On Monday, April 22nd the Central Catholic community was honored to have Mrs. Eileen Collins present to over fifty of our young men in Coach Curran’s room. Mrs. Collins is a former test pilot, a Colonel in the United States Air Force, and the first woman space shuttle commander!
Mrs. Collins narrated a mission video of her crew docking with the international space station. Commander Collins also educated our young men on the future of human space flight. A question and answer session followed Mrs. Collins' presentation.
Mrs. Collins concluded her presentation by asking the students questions about space and the space program. Correct answers received a Milky Way and Mars candy bar! Thank you to Mrs. Collins and to all in attendance, this proved again to be a wonderful experience for all involved.
