Alumni Directory project

Every few years, Central Catholic prints an alumni directory, and the 2010 directory project is about to begin! Over the next couple of months, Publishing Concepts, Inc. (PCI) will be contacting alumni like you via mail, phone, and e-mail to request that you update your information. We understand that you might not want to provide your information to just anyone, so we want you to know that their request for your information is legitimate.

Why do I need to update my information?
Information changes quickly! Mailing addresses, e-mail addresses, children...things are always changing with our alumni and we want to keep in touch with you. Updating your information will ensure Central Catholic can keep you connected.

What are my options for purchasing a 2010 Central Catholic Alumni Directory from PCI?
There are several options:

Value Package ($129.95 + $15.95 shipping and handling), including:

  • Printed alumni directory
    •CD alumni directory
    •Companion airline ticket


Printed alumni directory only ($89.95 + $9.95 shipping and handling)

CD alumni directory only ($89.95 + $9.95 shipping and handling)

CD of alumni data by decade ($29.95 +  $9.95 shipping and handling)


Why is Central Catholic using an outside contractor to complete this project?
With a small staff, Central Catholic High School needs to use a professional company to ensure that the Directory is complete, accurate, and completed on time.

When will the 2010 Alumni Directory be complete?
The Directory will be completed and printed in February of 2011. Only the number of Directories that have been requested by alumni will be printed to be cost effective and environmentally friendly.

Is there an environmentally friendly version of the Alumni Directory?
Yes, alumni may purchase a CD-ROM of the Alumni Directory.

Can I choose what information is listed in the directory?
Yes. As a standard, the following information will be printed in the Directory:

  • Full name
    •Class Year
    •Home mailing address
    •Preferred e-mail address
    Job title and company

If you wish not to have certain information printed in the Directory, you may choose to have specific details omitted.

ABOUT PCI

Who is PCI?  
PCI is a company that creates and publishes alumni directories for educational institutions. PCI’s products help colleges and universities update alumni information for the purpose of encouraging alumni engagement.

How long has PCI been in business?
PCI traces their roots back over 85 years to the Rockwell F. Clancy Company, the nation’s first publisher of alumni directories. PCI has been incorporated under the PCI (Publishing Concepts) name since 1982 and are a privately-held, family-run business.

On what market(s) is PCI focused?  
PCI works with alumni and development offices of universities, colleges, professional schools, independent schools, alumni associations, fraternities, and sororities.

Who are some of the PCI clients? 
PCI partners with 17 of the top 25 universities as rated by US News and World Report including Princeton, Harvard, and Georgetown.

Where is PCI located?

1. Q: I received a phone call from a company asking for my personal information. They said they were working on a directory for Central Catholic High School. Is this a legitimate project, or is it a scam?


A: The company we are working with to produce our new alumni directory is PCI: the data company (also known as Publishing Concepts.) PCI is a company that creates and publishes alumni directories for educational institutions. They are located in Dallas, TX, and their customer service number is 1-800-982-1590.


2. Q: I want to verify my information is correct. How can I do this?


A: There are a few ways to accomplish this. If you have received an email or postcard with a telephone number, you may call to speak with a representative who will walk you through the verification process. If you have received an email with a personalized URL, you may go to the online site to check your information. If you have questions, you may call PCI’s customer service desk at 1-800-982-1590.


3. Q: How much does the directory cost?


A: A print or CD-ROM version of the directory is available for $89.95 plus $9.95 shipping and handling. You can also order the print directory together with the CD-ROM for $129.95 plus $15.95. (This package comes with a complimentary companion airline voucher. It is essentially a “buy-one-get-one-free” airline ticket.) You can also order a package containing the print directory, the CD-ROM, the companion airline ticket, and the “Pride of Alumni” collection. The Pride of Alumni collection contains special merchandise imprinted with the Central Catholic High School logo. This package is available for $169.95 plus $19.95 shipping and handling. Additionally, we are offering a choice of apparel for alumni who purchase one of the three standard packages listed above. You may order either a Champion brand sweatshirt or a Hanes brand cap and t-shirt combination, both with school logo for $29.95 plus $9.95 shipping & handling. Finally, we are offering a segmented CD-ROM at a discounted price of $29.95 plus $9.95 shipping & handling.


4. Q: I ordered a directory/package over the phone and would like to cancel my order. How do I do this?


A: Call the PCI customer service help desk at 1-800-982-1590, and they will take care of this for you.


5. Q: When will I receive my directory?
A: The total duration of the directory project is about 12 months. Since we began the project in February of 2010, the directories will be distributed in February of 2011. (If you ordered a Pride of Alumni Collection, these will be distributed at the same time as the books.)


6. Q: I ordered a package containing the Companion Airline Voucher, but I haven’t received the email with my voucher number.


A: Vouchers are distributed within 4-6 weeks of receipt of payment. If this time has elapsed and you have not received your voucher, please call the PCI customer service desk at 1-800-982-1590 to request your voucher to be sent.


7. Q: Someone at PCI called me a few months ago about the alumni directory. I didn’t place an order at the time, but I would like to now. Can I still do that?


A: If the directory has not yet been printed, you can still reserve a copy at the regular price. If the directory has already been printed, you can purchase a directory for $106.90 (while supplies last.)


8. Q: Can I choose for some or all of my information to not be printed in the directory?


A: Absolutely. You may tell the caller what information you would prefer to have excluded when you call to update/verify your information. You may also communicate this information to the PCI customer service desk.


9. Q: Can anyone purchase a directory?


A: The Central Catholic High School Alumni Directory is available for sale only to Central Catholic High School alumni.
