CCHS Alumni Association Elects New President and Executive Officers
The Central Catholic High School Alumni Association is proud to announce Charlie Gomez ’84 as its new President. Charlie, a seasoned Sales and Food Service Hospitality/Marketing professional, brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership experience to the position. Currently, Charlie serves as Vice President, Specialty Markets, for Ricos Products Co.—a Central Catholic family-owned business.
As a long-time volunteer leader for the Alumni Association and Central Catholic High School, Charlie has previously served as Chairman of the 2019 Central Catholic Gala and 2020 Larry Grouthues Memorial Golf Classic. Both events have been instrumental in providing over $200,000 in technology improvements, scholarships, and program needs to the school. Charlie’s love for sports and CCHS brought him back to his alma mater as a coach from 1987 to 1995 in both football and track, earning a TCIL State Championship as an Assistant Coach on Central’s 1990 football team. Charlie and his wife Sonia have been married for 29 years. Their daughter Analisa is a second-year law student and son Charlie is a sophomore in college and a 2019 graduate of Central Catholic.
“I feel a strong kinship to the school and want to give back as much as possible as a sign of gratitude to a school that had a strong influence on the person I am today,” says Charlie. “As many of us that have graduated from Central, I feel a responsibility to help maintain and improve the school for present and future students.” Charlie also encourages alumni to stay connected to make sure Central’s history remains a strong part of the school.
In addition to Charlie as President, the CCHS Alumni Association board elected the following new officers:
- President – Charlie Gomez ‘84

With an alumni base of more than 10,000 strong, the Alumni Association offers a variety of opportunities to support the school. In the last five years, the Alumni Association has donated more than $375,000 back to support CCHS scholarships, school programs, and facility improvements (including the Kahlig-Cowie Convocation Center).
