Inclement Weather Protocol: Friday, October 1

Lightning Delays (spectators will be notified via PA)

• Spectators MUST evacuate the stands and seek shelter at either of the following locations until the delay expires (as directed by CC staff):
  • Spectators to their personal vehicle (prefered)
  • KCCC (new gym) for Tailgaters
  • Alumni Gym for Home Side Spectators
  • Cafeteria for Visitor Side Spectators (may also go their buses)
  • Band Hall for the band
  • Weight Room for the CC Cheerleaders
  • Respective Locker Rooms for the football teams
• Delay times
  • There will be a 30 minute delay for every lightning strike within an 8 mile radius.
    • The time starts over for every lightning strike.
    • Spectators may return to the stadium at the sound of the lightning horn. The horn will sound 3 times for the all clear.
  • Necessary time adjustments will be made to the length of the halftime. The quarter (play) times will remain the same.
• If the delay happens prior to the official start of the game, the game will begin as soon as possible, but will not kick off after 9:00 p.m.
• Once the game has officially started, the game will not continue past 11:30 p.m. (due to travel for the out of town team).
• The game will be considered a complete game after 3 complete quarters AND one of the teams leads by 21 points or more.
