On Tuesday (2-22-2022), Sarah Coulombe, a director from Camp CAMP, gave a brief presentation to around 40 students after school in Mr. Bendele’s room. She started the presentation off by telling the audience what Camp CAMP is. This summer camp on the Guadalupe River serves children with special needs. That is what makes this camp so special and so unique. There are kids that attend this camp that will have the opportunity to ride a canoe or ride a horse. These are experiences that they probably will not be able to have anywhere else!
At that point, Mrs. Coulombe shifted gears and reminded the audience that Camp CAMP also needs volunteers. She explained that oftentimes their volunteers have life-changing experiences and that many of them go on to have careers in medicine or various forms of therapy as a result of their experiences.
