Guardian Angels: Blood Drive & Gardening Project

I just wanted to sincerely thank everyone who was able to donate blood this past Friday, May 13. We normally do not have drives this late in the school year, but the South Texas Blood & Tissue Center was in dire need. So, we did our best to help out! We finished with 33 units! That number surpassed our goals and expectations!

Friday, May 13th we also had our last service project of the year - we planted more plants in the quad. We did this last year and all of the plants we planted then were desert plants, but even desert plants need some water (and love). Approximately a third of what we planted last year died. The red yuccas and thornless cholla cactus, however, were thriving. Therefore, we decided to plant more red yuccas and chollas! My dream is that years from now when alum come back for their reunions these plants will still be thriving.

Thank you for a great year of service! May God bless each of you this summer and may God bless our Central Catholic!

Sincerely,
James Bendele
