Accompanied by Sra. Mendez and Dr. Ballesteros, Central Catholic’s eSports Team, the “Snake Bytes” participated in the R20 League this past Saturday, February 11, 2023, at the Tech Port Center + Arena in Port San Antonio. Supported by their families, the team competed against eSports Teams from other local high schools, such as Roosevelt, Cole, Harlandale, Jefferson, South San, Steele, and McCollum. Additionally,
R20 added 6 new schools to the League. Such schools include Warren, Harlan, and Clark.

Led by Gamer Rep Aiden Gutierrez, the Rocket League Team, consisting of Jordan Winfrey, Ethan Winfrey, Magnus Zuniga, and Albert Alvarado went 5-0. As of now, they are ranked 2nd out of 15 teams, with a total of 19 wins and 4 losses.
The Valorant Team, composed of Gamer Rep Nathan Talamantez, Rudy Davila, Jack Brysch, Diego Posadas, and Miles Procknow, moved up from Group B to Group A.
They are looking to bounce back after going 2-2, losing to Steele, the top team in the R20 League. As of now, they are ranked 3rd out of 16 schools, with 13 wins and 5 losses.
The Super Smash Brothers Ultimate Team consisted of Gamer Rep Isaac Pohl, Kolby Cruz, and Mariano
Aguilar. Out of 113 students, Isaac went into the Top 8 after going 6-0. He will be in the Top 32 for the
next competition. Kolby was tied for the Top 2 in his pool, after going 3-1-1.
