Science Takes a (Campus) Hike

Earlier this month, Mr. Bendele, took a creative approach to engage his students. He led his Biology Honors and Dual Credit Evolution classes outside of the classroom for a captivating interactive lesson on local plant and tree species.

During this outdoor excursion, students had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the natural world, discovering the various types of plants and trees that thrive in the surrounding area. Specifically, Mr. Bendele and his students delved into the fascinating phenomenon of leaves changing colors in the fall.

By incorporating hands-on activities like these into their curriculum, our educators strive to offer students alternative pathways to comprehend and engage with new material. Such interactive experiences not only facilitate a deeper understanding of the subjects taught in class but also enable students to appreciate the wonders of nature firsthand.
