On Monday, December 11th, Button Life hosted an extraordinary Tai Chi session in the serene Library Garden, providing our students with a calming opportunity to prepare for the challenges of finals week. As our students gracefully immersed themselves in the different stretches and poses, a dedicated Life member shared powerful Bible verses and heartfelt prayers that deepened our connection with God.
During the session, one pose in particular resonated with us all: the arms wide pose. In this posture, we symbolically reach for both Heaven and Earth, recognizing our interconnectedness with the divine and with our fellow brothers and sisters here on earth. As we gracefully extended our arms, our prayers focused on continuing to seek the guidance of the Lord and embracing our shared humanity.
The impact of this event was profound, as our students found solace and peace amidst the pressures of finals week. Alex Castillo, Class of '24, shared, "Tai Chi was a unique experience that provided me a moment of peace during this stressful week." Young Tristan Rosales '27 expressed, "This event helped me connect to God, to my fellow brothers present, and to the environment around me."
Through experiences like Tai Chi, Button Life fosters an environment that allows our young men to find tranquility, strengthen their faith, and foster meaningful connections with others.
