The Guardian Angels and the Environment Club joined forces for the annual Basura Bash on February 17.
Together, we dedicated our morning and afternoon to cleaning up plastics at OP Schnabel Park and the Leon Creek Greenway. It was a fulfilling experience as we immersed ourselves in the outdoors alongside the deer and even some snakes, working together to make a positive impact on the environment.
Continuing their spirit of service, the Guardian Angels returned a week later to volunteer at the Saddle Light Center in Selma. This organization utilizes equine therapy to support children with a range of disabilities like Down syndrome and Muscular Dystrophy. Our time at the center was spent cleaning out stables, allowing us to not only contribute to the upkeep of the facilities but also enjoy bonding moments with the majestic horses.
The collaborative efforts of the Guardian Angels and the Environment Club exemplify the power of teamwork in creating a cleaner, more compassionate community. Through these meaningful experiences, we strengthen our bonds with nature and each other, fostering a sense of responsibility and empathy towards our surroundings and those in need.
