On November 9, 2024, accompanied by Sra. Mendez, Dr. Ballesteros, and family members, the Valorant Team, Rocket League Team, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Team competed in the R20 League at the TechPort SA. The Snake Bytes competed against other eSports teams from local high schools, such as Lutheran HS, South San, STEM Early College HS, Clark HS, Warren HS, and CAST Tech.
Led by Jack Brysch '26, the Valorant Team consisted of Kai Claiborne '27, Charles Longanecker '28 and Zack Vroomin '28. Overall, they won 1 out of the 4 rounds they competed in that day and are looking to rebound for the upcoming competitions. Ethan Winfrey '27 led the Rocket League Team, which was made up of Kaidin Traver '26, and Jose Hernandez '27. The team won 3 of their 6 games that day.
The Super Smash Bros Ultimate Team, led by Isaac Pohl '25, was composed of Kolby Cruz '25, Anthony Muller '27, Aidan Salzar '27, Raphael Avila '28, and Dylan Stone Ramirez '27. Most of our SSBU players won 2 out of the 3 rounds they competed in that day. Isaac won all three of the rounds he competed in the day.
Additionally, multiple teams have made it into the VANTA Playoffs, which started yesterday, November 18, 2024. Their opponents, thus far, have been from other high schools, such as Holy Cross, Concordia Lutheran, San Juan Diego, Texoma Christian School, and Eagle Christian Academy.
Ben Alarcon '26 is currently in 4th place out of a total of 16 gamers in Chess.
Led by Jonah Hill '25, the Overwatch Team is ranked 2nd out of 7 teams.
Our three Fortnite Teams, led by Kai Claiborne '27, are all ranked in the Top 3, competing against 9 other teams.
The Super Smash Bros Ultimate Team, also led by Isaac Pohl '25, is ranked 3rd out of a total of 15 teams.
