Evolution Class's Friedrich Park & Leon Creek Adventures

Mr. Bendele’s 6th Period Dual Credit Intro to Evolution class recently spent a day at Friedrich Wilderness Area, Crownridge Canyon, and the Leon Creek Greenway. Our young men hiked a little over 6 miles and learned all about the flora and fauna of the region. They also studied the geology of the parks while discussing potential environmental threats to these beautiful yet fragile and rugged ecosystems within the southern Texas Hill Country. “Drought” was a common theme throughout the day.

Mr. Bendele says "It was awesome being able to show the class some techniques that wildlife biologists perform when they’re out in the field!"
