Snake Bytes Strike in April

headerOn April 12, 2025, accompanied by Sra. Mendez, Dr. Ballesteros, and family members, the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Team and Rocket League Team competed in the R20 League at the TechPort SA.  The Snake Bytes competed against other eSports teams from local high schools, such as Steele HS, South San, New Braunfels HS, Highlands HS, Brennan HS, Kennedy HS, Holmes HS, Jefferson HS, Clark HS, Warren HS, and CAST Tech.  This day’s matches determined who would be competing in the Grand Finals on May 10, 2025.

The Super Smash Bros Ultimate Team consisted of team captain Isaac Pohl ‘25, Dylan Stone Ramirez ‘27, Zack Vrooman ‘28, Aidan Salazar ‘27, Anthony Muller ‘27, Anthony Paiva ‘28, and Raphael Avila ‘28.  Both Isaac and Dylan competed in the Top 32 of players.

The Rocket League Blue Team, led by Ethan Winfrey ‘26, consisted of Jose Hernandez ‘27, Michael Acebedo ‘27, Kaidin Traver ‘26, and Albert Alvarado IV ‘25.  After winning a best of seven semi-final series, four games to three, advanced to the Grand Finals.

The Snake Bytes are currently in the midst of playoffs for the Vanta League.  The Super Smash Brothers Ultimate, Fortnite, and Overwatch teams are currently in the Semi-Finals this week.
